Adventure reimagined
Sometimes adventure isn’t about boarding a plane or ticking off a bucket list. It’s about turning left instead of right, stepping into a café you’ve never tried, or wandering down a street in a neighbouring town with no fixed plan except to see what’s there.
In my latest Space to Think conversation, I speak with writer and coach
about her “explorer days,” a practice that began in childhood Saturday morning outings with her family and continues to shape how she experiences the world. These days aren’t about big attractions or curated Instagram moments. They’re about curiosity, a personal wellbeing barometer and the joy of discovering independent shops, community spaces and the stories they hold.We talk about how these small adventures can:
Pull us gently out of our routines.
Support local businesses and strengthen communities.
Help us be more present with ourselves and each other.
Offer novelty and inspiration, even in familiar places.
Shift with the seasons, from sunlit picnics to cosy candlelit cafés.
Claire also shares how micro-adventures, as small as a single class, event, or short trip can spark the same sense of discovery, and why not every explorer day needs to “work” to be worthwhile.
An Invitation to Explore
If you’ve been feeling stuck in the school-work–home loop, or just want to invite more curiosity into your week, this episode might be the nudge you need to plan your own explorer day or micro-adventure.
Enjoy the conversation, and let’s see where your curiosity takes you.
Thanks for listening to Space to Think, a podcast where I create space to think through conversations with guests exploring their knowledge, insights and stories. Each conversation holds the potential for ideas to grow wild.
